Iditarod 2022 begins. See the ceremonial start during record snowfall in Anchorage, AK.
You’re here because you have a story that you’re burning to tell. Greatland is a place for raw, fearless narratives told by passionate and bold storytellers. We are always looking for diverse, authentic voices and we love to give new writers a platform to explore their craft. Submit your work here and become a Greatland contributor.
Here’s what we’re looking for now:
Nonfiction Essays: Personal stories with universal truths—this is the heart and soul of Greatland. Stories of survival or self discovery? COVID isolation? Confessions, lost love, or strange encounters? Something else? We want to hear from you! Nonfiction stories must be true (obviously), and must have happened to you (well, yeah).

Videos: Prefer video? We accept all first-person nonfiction video stories. (Think The Moth or Arctic Entries.) 5-7 minute length preferred, just you and a camera. Practice your story and deliver it as if you were performing to a live audience.
Short Fiction: Yes, we accept your original short fiction stories. Whatcha got?
Animation/Photography: We accept original photo essays an animations that tell a compelling story.
Every submission will be read. Greatland does not currently pay contributors. We are a free site working to connect storytellers with audiences. We are sans advertising, and sans income—we run on passion and strong coffee.
